College Redirection Pool - Student POV

The College Redirection Pool (CRP) is an opportunity for colleges to recruit students who may not have committed to an institution yet. The CRP is opt-in for both institution and student. Because it's important to understand the program from all angles, the information on this page explains how the CRP is presented to students. After you read through, visit the College Point of View on the CRP

What is it?

The College Redirection Pool is a system that can help students find colleges that have open admissions slots. NC colleges and universities may request student information from CFNC and contact you. This means that students may be contacted by colleges that were not on their initial radar or that they didn’t even know about before using the system, giving students more options in the latter half of their senior year than they may have expected.

How does it work?

CFNC’s College Redirection Pool becomes available to students on April 1 and can be used until August 31. To take advantage of this option, students share information about their educational background and goals so colleges can reach out to students who meet their specific admissions requirements. Students can then decide whether to apply to the college officially.

Who participates?

Both two-year and four-year institutions utilize this resource to serve more students so there are a lot of different options available to students who are looking to continue their education in the fall.
